Evergreen Wreath History
The evergreen wreath dates back to Roman times, although it was popularized in the days of Queen Victoria as a winter decoration. As days grow shorter and colder, the trees that stay green year round are celebrated. Fresh, sweet smelling boughs are brought indoors to decorate the home, and some are bound into a circle shape to represent the eternity of life.
The winter wreath you have received was made on the west coast. It includes top quality Noble Fir, Incense Cedar and Berried Juniper. The swag of fabric flowers and ribbon can be detached in the new year and kept for years to come.
To keep your wreath looking fresh for as long as possible, please read the following instructions. Remove the wreath from the box immediately. Keep it cool. It can tolerate temperatures between 50 and 28 degrees Fahrenheit – a little freezing will not hurt it. If possible, keep it out of direct sunlight, sheltered from wind. Spritz it with water if the weather is warm and dry, to help the greens stay hydrated.
With a little care, your winter wreath should be fresh and beautiful through the holiday season. Enjoy!
